#2883 Comparison of Somatostatin Analogues in Metastatic Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors from a Bayesian Perspective: The GETNE-TRASGU Study

Introduction: Somatostatin analogues (SSA), octreotide LAR (Oct) and lanreotide autogel (Lan), significantly prolong progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with well-differentiated gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NET). However, comparative data are not available and randomized trials comparing both SSAs are unlikely to be conducted.

#2280 The BON-SSTR2 Chicken Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM) Model for the Analysis of Lu-17-DOTATOC Sensitizing Agents

Introduction: Peptide radioreceptor therapy (PRRT) is a promising therapy option for SSTR2-positive pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN). However, therapeutic effects are often not satisfying concerning sensitivity to PRRT. We hypothesize that the slow proliferation of NENs provides sufficient time for the repair of beta-particle induced-DNA damage. The ubiquitin-proteasome-system is involved in DNA damage repair and affected by the proteasome inhibitor bortezomib (Velcade®). The inhibition of DNA damage repair during PRRT may be an option to improve therapy response in NEN. We have recently demonstrated the damage repair inhibitory and pro-apoptotic effect of bortezomib in NEN in vitro (Briest et al., in revision).

#2136 Combination of Capecitabine and Temozolomide for Advanced Thymic Neuroendocrine Tumors

Introduction: In vitro data indicate that the combination of capecitabine(CAP) and temozolomide(TEM) is synergistic for induction of apoptosis in neuroendocrine tumor cell lines. It has been proven that the CAPTEM regimen is associated with an exceptionally high and durable response rate in patients with metastatic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. However, there is less evidence to illustrate if the CAPTEM regimen is effective for thymic neuroendorine tumors(TNET).

#1721 Optimisation of the Size Variation Threshold for CT Evaluation of Response in Advanced Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors Treated with Octreotide LAR

Introduction: In advanced gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs), somatostatin analogs treatment rarely achieve a reduction of -30% in the sum of longest diameters (SLD) of target lesions required by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) for an ‘objective response’. The implication of Stable Disease (SD) as an additional indicator of therapeutic effect is often uncertain.
